Seminar in Myanmar with MES on 25th March 2017
This event jointly organised by Building Systems & Diagnostics Singapore and Myanmar Engineering Society aims to encourage industry’s major stakeholders to adopt a more sustainable and greener approach in the construction of buildings in both the private or public sectors.
M&V’s sales director, Steven Kang, will also be giving a speech at this seminar.
Synopsis of his speech below.
“The presentation will revolve around 3 focus points.
Firstly, the presentation will share recently findings on the impact of global warming on Myanmar and our planet. The co-relation between energy usage, CO2 emission and global warming will be explained. Companies have broadly 2 choices: Some companies will continue to do business as usual, prioritise short term financial goals and choose cheaper instead of higher efficiency green buildings. They will exacerbate the impact of global warming, risk their reputation as responsible companies and face risks of spiraling operating cost in a low carbon future. More forward looking companies will consider the other choice of investing in higher efficiency Green Buildings and contribute positively and sustainably to Profitability, People and Planet.
Secondly, the presentation will share the Singapore experience in pushing the boundaries of energy efficiency in air conditioning systems. The following will be shared:
- Performance Based Specifications versus Prescriptive Based Specifications
- System Based Energy Efficiency versus Equipment Based Energy Efficiency
- Verification of Energy Efficiency versus Declaration of Energy Efficiency
- KW/RT metric versus of KWh metric for measuring energy efficiency.
Lastly, the presentation will share proven solutions and technologies that can immediately be used to improve energy efficiency of chiller plant such as Energy Management Systems that can measure and optimize energy efficiency accurately, real time and continuously for the life of the chiller plant. Energy efficient design and use of high efficiency equipment such as high efficiency chillers, pumps, fans, VSDs and control valves will also be shared followed by a successful case study.”
